Final Quiz

Anais and Calliope both had adventurous lives. I noticed that both went through a time of confusion, a time where they were not sure what they wanted. Anais had sexual relations with both sexes, family members, and acquaintances. Calliope also experimented with both sexes. One of her most intimate relations was with “the Object” who was also a female. This is the relationship where Calliope noticed something was wrong with her body for sure. As an archetype I saw Anais and Calliope to fit the seeker. I felt Anais was always looking for a greater pleasure while Calliope was looking for answers to her lack of female development. Calliope fell behind, in a physical way, the other girls her age and she did not understand why. Both characters were missing something.

Anais looked for different environments to establish her self , whether it was with her husband or if it was with Henry. Anais did not like to stay in one place. Like wise Cal moved into a different environment, San Francisco in order to start where no one knew who she/he was in his former life. It was obvious that Cal was hiding something and that is why he ran away from his home. I feel Anais was also hiding something and that was her lack of satisfaction. Both Cal and Anais were not satisfied with something and they were confused as to where a solution would be found so they were drawn towards people most like them. In Anais case it was Henry who was a sex addict and in Cal’s case it was another hermaphrodite.
